Birketts raises more than £20,000 for children’s charity EACH
9 May 2023
Local law firm Birketts has raised £20,000 at its annual golf day in support of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
27 teams took part in the golf day, hosted at Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club, with generous donations streaming in to support the incredible work that EACH does supporting children and young people with life-threatening conditions.
Participants once again were able to sign up to ‘Beat the Pro’, a one-on-one challenge against Ryder Cup player and former European Tour No 1 Ronan Rafferty, who for the second year running kindly supported the day. Other fundraising elements such as the charity auction, which raised over £6,500, and the raffle were all generously supported by attendees.
Caroline Allen, Corporate Fundraising Manager at EACH said: “I can’t express just how important fundraising efforts such as the Birketts golf day are to our charity. The support and care we provide for families, children and young people is only possible with the generous donations from those within our communities.
“Donations allow us to provide Clinical Nurse Specialists to help with symptom management, facilitate counselling sessions for bereaved families and fund short breaks for carers across Cambridge, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. Once again, I would like to thank Birketts and the businesses that took part in the golf day.”
Chris Schwer, Partner and Head of Property at Birketts and Trustee of EACH said: “It was a pleasure to be able to host our annual golf day once again this year. I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who took part and donated in various ways. Birketts is committed to supporting local charities and we’re very pleased that we have once again been able to donate to EACH in this way.”
