Birketts raises over £20,000 for children’s charity EACH
30 April 2024
UK Top 50 law firm Birketts has raised over £20,000 at its annual golf day in support of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) on Friday 26 April.
EACH provides support to children and young people with life-threatening conditions across East Anglia. 27 teams took part in the golf day, hosted at Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club, with generous donations streaming in to support the charity.
The day consisted of healthy competition out on the course, and participants were once again able to sign up to ‘Beat the Pro’, taking on Ryder Cup player and former European Tour No 1 Ronan Rafferty in a one-on-one challenge.
Other fundraising elements on the day included a charity auction and raffle which raised over £8,500.
Billie Nugent, Senior Corporate Fundraiser for Suffolk and East Essex at EACH said: “Once again we’ve been blown away by the funds raised at Birketts’ golf day. The donations are so important to our charity, enabling us to support and provide care for families, children and young people.
“Donations allow us to provide Clinical Nurse Specialists to help with symptom management, facilitate counselling sessions for bereaved families and fund short breaks for carers across Cambridge, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.”
Chris Schwer, Senior Partner at Birketts and Trustee of EACH said: “Our annual golf day is one of the highlights on my calendar and it was a pleasure to host it once again. Thank you once again to all of those who took part raising funds for such a vital local charity.”
Thanks to Ben Tawell and Donna from Felixstowe Golf Club, Billie Nugent from EACH and Birketts’ Senior Partner Chris Schwer for their help in making the day such a success.
