UK Top 50 law firm Birketts recently assisted Black Swan Care Group on its acquisition of a care home in Taverham, near Norwich.
The home is the former Eastlands care home which closed in October 2022. Once opened, the renamed home will support up to 30 people living with dementia.
Black Swan Care Group provides short-term care, respite care, and longer-term support in residential care homes across East Anglia.
The Birketts team was led by Greg Allan (Partner and Head of Independent Healthcare) and Rosanna Drinkhouse (Solicitor, Commercial Real Estate).
Black Swan Care Group Managing Director, Tom Lyons, said: “At a difficult time for care home providers, we’re delighted to be able to invest in this home.
“There is currently a desperate need for specialist care for people living with dementia in Norwich and Norfolk, so we are really pleased to be able to support that demand with a care home specialising in providing dementia care, supporting some of the most-vulnerable people in our society.
“My thanks go to the Birketts team who provided expert advice and helped us complete the deal.”
Rosanna Drinkhouse added: “We are delighted to have assisted the Black Swan Care Group with their new acquisition and proud to have played a part in delivering dementia specialist care for the region.
“Refurbishing existing care homes is an excellent means of expanding access to quality care, especially in the current landscape of increasing demands and a shortage of beds.”
