Birketts has announced that Stephen Sumpton is to lead the firm’s expanding Commercial Property Team in London.
Stephen is a Partner in the Commercial Property Team and joined Birketts in November 2020. With over 20 years’ experience in investment, development and occupier work across all sectors, Stephen acts for a number of clients including sovereign wealth funds, fund and asset managers, developers, housebuilders and major corporate occupiers.
Stephen’s appointment as lead of the London Commercial Property Team comes at an exciting time for the firm in the City, which this week completed its move into new state-of-the-art premises at One London Wall. The landmark office building, designed by renowned architecture studio Foster + Partners, has recently been fully refurbished and remodelled and is equipped with spacious co-working areas and the latest technology.
On taking up his new role, Stephen said: “I am delighted to be leading Birketts’ Commercial Property Team in London. Commercial Property is a cornerstone of Birketts’ business, and I believe our team to be as good as any in the country. We handle everything from the most complex to the more rudimentary, and the size of our team means that we can work to the tightest of timescales. I’m looking forward to helping the firm to further develop our business in London and cement the team as a ‘go to’ for commercial property transactions in the City.”
