Grace Kerr is a Partner and Head of the Real Estate Division, based in our Chelmsford office.

A highly experienced commercial property solicitor, Grace leads one of the region’s most respected real estate practices, overseeing a multidisciplinary team that advises landowners, investors, and developers on a full range of property matters. The team are well recognised and are regularly ranked in the top tier of legal directories.

As Head of Real Estate, Grace plays a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s property strategy, driving innovation, and ensuring consistently high standards of client service across all offices. She works closely with colleagues across all of our real estate teams to deliver pragmatic solutions for clients with complex property portfolios and development ambitions.

Grace has a particular specialism in strategic land transactions, including promotion agreements, option agreements, and conditional contracts for the disposal of land for residential development. She also has extensive experience in commercial lease arrangements, acquisitions, disposals, funding, and the management of investment property portfolios.

Known for her pragmatic and commercially focused approach, Grace regularly advises clients on complex property transactions, helping them unlock value and navigate legal challenges with confidence. Her approach ensures that clients benefit from seamless service delivery across all aspects of commercial property law.

In addition to her legal work, Grace chairs Birketts’ Responsible Business Committee, championing sustainability, inclusion, and ethical business practices across the firm.
