Kevin joined Birketts in January 2022 and is based in our London office.
Kevin has more than 20 years’ experience in corporate law including corporate transactions, advisory work, reorganisations, management buy-outs, shareholder arrangements and mergers & acquisitions.
After training in the City, Kevin worked in-house for over 10 years as the General Counsel/Chief Counsel of various businesses, principally in the technology sector. During this time, he gained a thorough understanding of the broad range of work that in-house legal departments undertake. Kevin managed teams of lawyers across the world who serviced global organisations.
His transactional experience has covered various sectors, including, defence, technology and IT, financial services, leisure and hospitality, travel and manufacturing.
Kevin has considerable experience in international cross-border M&A and corporate advisory work, covering a broad spectrum of international businesses and geographies.
Kevin is also a member of the firm’s Ecclesiastical Law practice. He is currently completing an LLM in Canon Law at Cardiff University. His academic studies have focussed on the practical aspects of the law governing the Church of England, such as the employment status of ministers of religion, the administration of the Holy Sacrament in only one kind during Covid-19 restrictions, the benefits and burdens of establishment and the impact of ECHR Article 9 rights on freedom of religion. Kevin’s dissertation considers the scope for secular courts to review decisions taken within the Church of England. His work supports that of the Registrar for the London and Norwich dioceses. Kevin is a member of the Ecclesiastical Law Society.
