Experience

Kevin joined Birketts in January 2022 and is based in our London office.

Kevin has more than 20 years’ experience in corporate law and has a deep knowledge of corporate transactions and advisory work, including reorganisations, management buy-outs, shareholder arrangements and mergers and acquisitions.

After training in the City and then working for a Magic Circle firm, Kevin worked in-house for over 10 years as the General Counsel/Chief Counsel of various businesses, principally in the IT and technology sector. During this time, he gained a thorough understanding of the broad range of work that in-house legal departments undertake. Kevin managed teams of lawyers spread across the world who serviced global organisations. 

His transactional experience has covered various sectors, including, defence, technology and IT, financial services, leisure and hospitality, travel and manufacturing.

Kevin has considerable experience in international cross-border M&A and corporate advisory work, covering a broad spectrum of international businesses and geographies. He has lived and worked as a lawyer in London, Brussels, Luxembourg, Dubai and Sydney.

Kevin is also a member of the firm’s Ecclesiastical Law practice. He is currently completing an LLM in Canon Law at Cardiff University. His academic studies have focussed on the practical aspects of the law governing the Church of England. Kevin’s dissertation considers the scope for secular courts to review decisions taken within the Church of England. His work supports that of the Registrar for the London and Norwich dioceses. Kevin is a member of the Ecclesiastical Law Society. 

Other Information

Outside of work, Kevin is a Governor of an international school in Luxembourg, where he lived with his family and worked for six and a half years. He is a member of the Learning & Standards Committee, chairs the IT Committee and is the Governor responsible for policies.
