Catherine Johnson joined Birketts from an international city law firm in 2009 and leads our Employment team in Ipswich.
Specialising in advising and assisting her clients to run large-scale projects (including collective information and consultation processes) Catherine’s work focuses on setting up and assisting HR Operations and Shared Service functions, collective redundancy, bulk COT3 processes, TUPE transfers, harmonisation/ variation of terms and conditions and contracts of employment, restructuring and business relocations all on a national and international scale. Catherine and her team are also experts in handling ER case management and Employment Tribunal claims.
Catherine has a strong background in partnering with C-suite and their organisations to assist and advise on HR and people strategies including People team design, priorities, implementation and landing large projects within the business.
Many of Catherine’s clients are household names in the digital technology space and she advises them on all aspects of employment law ensuring that the relevant business has the right HR Operations foundations in place often after a rapid period of growth or in preparation for an IPO. Catherine works closely with HR Operations experts on ensuring that appropriate HR policy, principles and practices are in place and with CPO’s on their strategic aims for their People Plans and Senior Executive hires and exits.
