Cecily Hayton is a Solicitor in the private client advisory team, having qualified in September 2024 after completing her training contract with Birketts.
She provides clear, pragmatic advice to individuals and families, supporting them with lifetime planning and the administration of estates and trusts.
During her training contract, Cecily gained wide-ranging experience across the firm, completing seats in commercial real estate, agriculture, private client advisory and private wealth disputes. This breadth of exposure has given her an excellent understanding of the issues that can arise for clients with diverse personal and business interests.
As part of the private client advisory team, Cecily advises on the preparation of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, estate administration and trust administration. She works closely with clients to understand their personal priorities and long‑term objectives, ensuring that their affairs are structured in a way that provides security for themselves and their families.
Recent work highlights
Advising on complex intestacy matters involving multiple generations and a broad class of beneficiaries, including providing structured guidance to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Assisting in the administration of high‑value estates, managing detailed asset portfolios, liaising with financial institutions and valuers, and supporting executors in meeting their legal and tax obligations efficiently and accurately.
