James has worked for Birketts since joining as an articled clerk in 1977. Formerly a Partner in the firm, with experience in a wide range of non-contentious legal work, the majority of his time is now spent in his role as Diocesan Registrar of the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, a post he has held since 1998.
In addition to ecclesiastical law, James handles other legal work for the diocese and the dioceses of Norwich and London.
