Josh Walker is a Solicitor in Birketts’ commercial dispute resolution team, specialising in insurance and reinsurance disputes.
He qualified in September 2025 after completing his training contract with the firm, where he gained experience across real estate, corporate, and dispute resolution.
Josh brings a commercially focused approach to litigation, combining practical problem-solving with an understanding of clients’ broader business objectives. His work spans all stages of dispute resolution, from pre-action strategy to formal court proceedings. In addition to handling contentious matters, Josh advises on risk management and strategies to avoid litigation, helping clients save time and costs.

Provided a litigation overview for the World Bank Group on proceedings in the English and Welsh courts.
Experience & education
Josh graduated from the University of Bristol with a 2:1 in History before completing the Legal Practice Course with Distinction in 2021. Prior to joining Birketts in 2022, he worked in a South-West London law firm’s litigation team, supporting both commercial and private clients.
Josh also volunteers at the East Greenwich Legal Advice Clinic, offering pro bono legal support to the local community.
