Josie joined Birketts in August 2025. She is a solicitor in our Property Disputes Team in the Bristol office.
Josie advises on a range of contentious issues for both private individuals and commercial clients. Within the commercial sector, Josie assists with dilapidations claims, contested lease renewals. Josie also advises in relation to easements, restrictive covenants, and boundary-related matters.
Josie also assists with applications under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 (TOLATA).
Prior to joining Birketts, Josie advised on disputes in the telecommunications sector, especially those brought under the Electronic Communications Code 2017. Josie assisted on precedential matters including Cornerstone Telecommunications Infrastructure Ltd v St Martins Property Investments Ltd [2021] UKUT 262 (LC) and Vodafone Limited v Icon Tower Infrastructure Limited and AP Wireless II (UK) Limited [2025] UKUT 00058 (LC).

Obtaining multiple beneficial costs judgment regarding a request for a telecommunications operator to undertake an intrusive multi-skilled visit of a high-rise building located in central London.
Advising telecommunications operators seeking the conferral of rights under the Electronic Communications Code 2017.

Josie studied chemistry (BSc) at the University of Bristol and prior to obtaining a distinction in the Graduate Diploma of Law at the University of Law.
