Lisa Cornish

Lisa specialises in advising clients in relation to their finances and arrangements for their children following the breakdown of their marriage, relationship or civil partnership.

Lisa trained and qualified as a Solicitor at Eversheds in 1994 before moving to Hansells in 2002 where she was a Partner and headed up the family team.  Lisa joined Birketts in 2018. She is a Senior Associate in our Family Team.

Lisa has many years of dealing with all aspects of family law and is known for listening carefully to her clients concerns and objectives and for her practical, calm and empathetic approach.  

Lisa deals with clients with a variety of issues and assets, modest or significant, including family business structures, farming partnerships, complex pension arrangements and trusts.  Lisa works hard to find practical and efficient solutions to problems and will advise on strategy and outcomes.

Lisa also deals with cases that involve issues relating to children and, as with financial cases, she will seek to resolve disputes effectively, including by using out of court methods such as mediation or arbitration where suitable, but will act firmly and with determination and will advise where court proceedings are necessary.
