Lorna Townsend
- Experience
Lorna heads up Birketts’ Workplace Investigations Team. She conducts investigations into workplace issues, a role she has carried out at Birketts for eight years. She brings to the role fifteen years’ experience as a practising employment law solicitor. During this time she gained invaluable insight into Tribunal expectations with regard to workplace investigations and is therefore able to avoid the many pitfalls. Lorna has also worked for international City law firms in London and abroad, as well as in-house for a major PLC in East Anglia.
Lorna has extensive experience of dealing with complex and sensitive grievance and disciplinary investigations, often involving allegations of discrimination. Lorna inspires trust and confidence in all parties involved, whether the individual who has raised a grievance or the person[s] against whom allegations have been made. She is able to analyse complex and conflicting evidence, and to distil the issues into clear, comprehensive and accessible reports. Lorna brings common sense and sound judgment to the matters she investigates, as well as a calm and approachable manner.
Lorna is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
