Louise Long is a Partner and Head of Private Client Advisory at Birketts and has more than 30 years’ experience advising individuals, families, trustees and business owners of the preservation, management and succession of private wealth.
She acts for a wide range of high-net-worth clients many of whom she has advised over several decades and across multiple generations. Louise is known for her calm, pragmatic and highly personal approach and is frequently regarded by clients as a trusted adviser to both their families and their wider professional networks. Her practice encompasses succession and inheritance tax planning, trusts, estate administration and broader wealth structuring advice often involving substantial business, investment, agricultural and landed assets.
Louise has particular expertise in advising on complex and sensitive family situations requiring both technical excellence and careful relationship management. She regularly works alongside accountants, investment advisers and other professionals to coordinate advice for clients with sophisticated and evolving wealth structures. Louise also acts as a professional trustee of a number of longstanding family trusts and undertakes notarial work. She has been a member of STEP since 1995.
