Millie Jay is a fifth year Solicitor Apprentice specialising within the residential real estate team.
Millie started her career at Birketts in 2021 straight after finishing her A levels at a local sixth form. She is currently preparing to sit the SQE exam in 2027.
Millie has experience in various different roles within the residential real estate team including as a completions assistant, legal assistant, and now running her own case load under supervision and working as a support paralegal to team leaders. As part of her apprenticeship, Millie combines both her practical experience and academic studies to work towards qualifying as a solicitor.
Day to day, Millie has active involvement in a broad range of residential legal matters, her work includes supporting diocesan matters, acting for banks and companies, and acting for private individuals on the whole spectrum of residential real estate transactions. Millie is also actively involved in various strategic projects through her roles on the residential real estate Social Media and AI committees.

Assisted in a matter representing a leading UK bank in respect of their charge of £2,400,000 over a property. This transaction required collaboration with Birketts’ agriculture and commercial real estate teams.
Ecclesiastical properties
Regularly assists various Diocesan Board Funds with their multi-million pound property portfolios alongside other residential and ecclesiastical colleagues.
