Our Education Team comprises experienced lawyers with specialist knowledge of the Independent Schools sector.
We advise a number of Independent Schools in the UK and recognise that Independent Schools require legal advisers with a real understanding of the challenges faced by the Independent School sector.
Our goal is to partner with our clients to support their strategic aspirations and secure a successful future for each school.
Our Education Team is based across all of our offices in the East of England, the South East and London and provides a full service practice, delivering comprehensive support across all areas of law, particularly charities, employment, student issues and disputes, safeguarding and SEN, construction, property and commercial and technology.
Our experience and client base
We are also one of three firms appointed by the Department of Education to provide independent legal advisers to the Teaching Regulation Agency’s professional conduct panels. This appointment provides us with valuable insight into the working of the Teaching Regulation Agency and also requires our team of legal advisers to regularly advise professional conduct panel on key issues that arise, such as safeguarding, the Prevent duty and all aspects of teacher misconduct
We also offer a range of added value services to our Independent Schools clients, including regular legal updates and briefings relevant to the sector, webinars, discussion groups, secure online data rooms and in-house training on a range of topics under our Shaping Excellence programme. As part of our Shaping Excellence offering, we have devised ‘Essential Law for School Leaders’ which deals with the key elements of employment and student-related law.

I find that sometimes they say things I don’t want to hear…they’re not fearful of saying what needs to be said, but do it in a way that was always seeking to try and get the best outcome they possibly can for their client.
