The Inspirational Business title is one of nine award categories with nominees put forward by EAAA staff. A special staff panel then whittle down the nominations to three per category; five categories are decided by the EAAA judging team and the remaining four categories are then put out to a public vote.
Phillipa Levy, Special Events Fundraiser for EAAA, said: “The EAAA Inspiration Awards are always a highlight in our events calendar, as it allows us to give something back to our community and share their incredibly inspirational stories. However, narrowing down the list of nominations and deciding a formal ‘winner’ really is an impossible task, we just want to share some joy with our community and highlight those who have inspired us along the way.”
She continued: “Birketts have been shortlisted as one of three nominees within the ‘Inspirational Business’ category due to the support that they showed EAAA during the Covid-19 crisis. Birketts dropped all work to get a secondment agreement sorted for our charity so our doctors could offer clinical advice to the ambulance service. They turned this around the same day, as well as offering the document free of charge to all air ambulances in the country, helping to save valuable time and money to get doctors helping in different parts of the NHS. Pulling together and working as a team is so important during this difficult time and we are extremely proud of Birketts for doing their bit to help! All of our supporters are a constant reminder of the fantastic community that we serve and are a true inspiration to us, as without you, our service couldn't continue. Together we save lives.”
Jeanette Wheeler, Partner and Head of Birketts’ Employment Team, added: “Birketts is committed to building sustainable, long term relationships and providing practical solutions for every one of our clients and it was a pleasure to be able to support such an important charity like the EAAA. I am proud of the work done by our team and we are absolutely thrilled to be nominated for this wonderful award. As always, we continue to look for others ways to increase our contribution across the community in these challenging times.”
