Alex Dedekind

Alex joined Birketts in November 2021 as an Associate in the Commercial Real Estate Team in the Cambridge office. Prior to this, Alex gained a breadth of experience at a large national firm in London and a highly regarded City US firm.
Alex has broad experience across the commercial real estate practice which includes asset management Landlord and Tenant matters such as drafting and negotiating leases, licences and surrenders and other supplemental documents predominantly for large institutional landlords. Alex also has experience with real estate investment sales and acquisitions of commercial and mixed-use property and acquiring and selling public houses (both leasehold and freehold).
More recently, Alex specialised in public body commercial property matters such as selling properties conditional on planning and acting on the acquisition of land for the development of a new police headquarters on planning risk.
Alex has extensive experience in real estate finance matters and has lead a number of portfolio finances such as financing a buy to let portfolio of 46 properties from instruction to completion in six weeks and leading the due diligence review of a portfolio of 22 medical properties. She also has broad experience in development finance.
Alex is recognised for her commercial and pragmatic approach.
Alex qualified as a Solicitor in July 2017.

Outside of work Alex enjoys staying active and is a qualified Pilates instructor. She also enjoys spending time with her family and is becoming a keen gardener.
