Bethanie joined Birketts in December 2021 as a Solicitor, after having trained and worked in property and private client in Southwold, Suffolk. She joined our Regulatory and Corporate Defence Team in February 2022.
Prior to this, Bethanie had worked in the private client sector since qualifying in December 2019 and advised on Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, trusts, tax, estate planning and probate. Bethanie is experienced in all aspects of probate from the initial loss of a loved one, from managing the estate through to the distribution of the assets. Her personable and professional approach to bereaved clients, make communication easy and smooth during this difficult time of estate administration.
From simple Wills and Codicils to complex and in depth estate planning, Bethanie advised on the most suitable and efficient Wills, particular for each client. When creating Lasting Powers of Attorney, Bethanie guided clients through all pitfalls and considerations regarding mental capacity and the responsibilities of an attorney.
Bethanie is based in our Ipswich office.
Prior to her training contract, Bethanie studied at the University of Law for her Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course and worked in London for several different firms as a Paralegal and Legal Assistant in film and television law. She worked in film production and post production, and before this, achieved a degree in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins, with an Erasmus exchange at the Beaux-Arts in Paris. Bethanie has spent a few months living in New Orleans, has travelled extensively and enjoys living by the beach on the Suffolk coast.
