Catherine Frost

Catherine is a Senior Associate (Chartered Legal Executive) in our Court of Protection Team. Catherine completed her qualifications with the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in January 2012 and she was admitted as a Fellow in May 2018. She joined Birketts in March 2020.
Prior to joining Birketts, Catherine gathered over 11 years of experience in Court of Protection matters and private client law. She regularly advises on various Court of Protection applications to include but not limited to: applications for the appointment of deputies, execution of statutory Wills, authorisation of gifts, and contested Enduring and Lasting Power of Attorney registrations.
She has a breadth of knowledge and expertise in supporting deputies appointed by the Court of Protection and attorneys acting under registered Enduring or Lasting Powers of Attorney in fulfilling their duties and obligations. She acquired these expertise during her time working alongside a court approved panel deputy.
Catherine also provides advice on complex Personal Injury Trusts for clients who have received compensation as a result of personal injury or malpractice in order to protect current and future entitlement to means tested benefits. She also provides representation for clients in challenging NHS Continuing Healthcare funding decisions.
Catherine also specialises in drafting and advising on complex Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney for personal and professional use, administration of high net worth estates and setting up and administering both lifetime and Will trusts. She has a particular interest in providing advice where family members are vulnerable.
Catherine provides straightforward, practical advice and she handles each situation with a high level of care and sensitivity. She seeks to find solutions to what can seem like daunting issues, especially where family dynamics are complicated.
Catherine is based in our Ipswich office
Catherine lives in Suffolk and prior to joining Birketts, she worked for two large local firms. Catherine is proficient in giving presentations to clients and connectors.
Outside work, Catherine is involved in many sporting activities to include playing netball in the South Suffolk Netball League and road races at local level. She enjoys travel and interior design.
