Chloe is an Associate in our Commercial Litigation Team and is based in our Norwich office. She joined Birketts in December 2018 after qualifying in September 2018.

Chloe completed her training contract at a regional firm and during this time gained experience in a wide range of litigation including, breach of contract, professional negligence, property litigation and contentious trusts and probate. In addition, Chloe also gained experience in employment, corporate and commercial and private client. 

Chloe is an approachable and pragmatic Lawyer who gives clear and concise advice. Chloe has experience acting for and advising corporate and private clients in a variety of commercial matters including:

  • Breach of contract claims;
  • Director and shareholder disputes; 
  • Breach of Restrictive Covenants and other claims arising from employment contracts; 
  • Professional negligence;
  • Company and individual insolvency; and
  • Complex debt recovery.

She has acted for and advised clients in relation to proceedings in both the County Court and the High Court, including urgent injunction applications. Chloe’s experience includes acting for clients in all of the business sectors that Birketts operates in, including agriculture, manufacturing, offshore energy, retail and general commerce.

In addition, Chloe regularly assists with franchising disputes. Chloe has experience acting for and advising both franchisors and franchisees in relation to: 

  • Default notices;
  • Franchise Agreement terminations; 
  • Post-Termination Restrictions; and
  • Misrepresentation claims.

Chloe makes sure that the advice she gives is sensible and tactical while taking account of not only the strict legal position but also the specific commercial situation of each client. Chloe appreciates that there will be some instances where the commercial and legal positions may be in conflict and will always work with clients to help ensure that their objectives and ambitions are achieved in a timely and cost effective manner.  

Chloe understands that litigation can be stressful and parties usually wish for these matters to be resolved as quickly and effectively as possible. Chloe has extensive experience in dealing with Alternative Dispute Resolution options through various methods such as mediation and negotiation. However, where appropriate, Chloe is robust in presenting or defending her client’s positions and interests.

If settlement is not possible, Chloe has experience with dealing with claims all the way through to final hearings and guiding her client’s through the process. Chloe has experience with final hearings in both County Court and High Court proceedings. 

Chloe graduated from the University of East Anglia in 2015 with a 2:1 in Law. Chloe then went on to complete her Legal Practise Course (LPC) at BBP Law School in Cambridge.
