Elizabeth qualified as a Solicitor in 2007 after training with another regional firm spending time working across their Norwich and London offices. She joined the Commercial Real Estate Team at Birketts in June 2010 and now leads our Real Estate Finance Team in the Norwich office.
The team primarily acts for banks and lenders in relation to their property work. Elizabeth has experience in a wide range of commercial property matters including the acquisition and disposal of freehold and leasehold property and a specialism in secured lending.
Her property finance work includes advising major high street lenders, challenger banks and private funders on facilities secured against investment properties and development sites varying from small business loans to multi-million pound facilities. This involves undertaking due diligence on property assets and the preparation and negotiation of loan and security documentation. Elizabeth also acts for property investor clients in funding their acquisitions and refinancing their portfolios.
Elizabeth works closely with our Banking Team and Corporate Team and acts for a number of different lenders on panel appointments to provide acquisition or development finance. This often involves leading teams to (re)finance existing portfolios. Her familiarity with lender’s requirements means that she is also well placed to assist borrowers who wish to proceed quickly.
She also has particular experience in managing a team acting on a high volume, fast turnover basis for lenders where excellent service and clear practical advice is key. In 2019 she managed a team who completed over 500 loans for a single lender whilst consistently scoring 100% across all service level criteria.
Other projects that Elizabeth has managed include acting for a district council in completing over 800 leases over various properties in 10 months for PV energy.
