Michelle Bentley

Michelle joined Birketts in February 2006 and is a Chartered Legal Executive in our Residential Real Estate Team and is based in our Ipswich office. Michelle is a Graduate Member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
Michelle acts for a range of clients on freehold sales and purchases, transfers of equity and refinancing arrangements. Michelle regularly acts for clients who are selling properties linked to new build purchases to ensure that the contractual arrangements are in alignment and the often tight timescales for exchange can be met.
In particular, Michelle works closely with our Private Client Department dealing with residential property matters in connection with inter-family transfers, wealth protection, probate and complicated trust arrangements. Michelle is meticulous and detail-focused, consistently receiving positive feedback from her clients.
An example of Michelle’s recent work is an interfamily transfer resulting in an undervalue leading to a Capital Gains Tax liability for one of the family members.
In her spare time, Michelle enjoys hitting the open road with her husband on their motorbike and spending time with their family.
Michelle is often first in the office and last out of the door in the evening and will always go the extra mile for both colleagues and clients.
