Mike Richards

Mike is a Senior Associate in the Residential Real Estate Team and is based at our Ipswich office. He is a Chartered Legal Executive and also a member of the Equity Release Council. Mike has accumulated over 40 years of conveyancing experience during his career and has been at Birketts for the last 25 of these.
Mike deals with freehold and leasehold transactions, mortgages and re-mortgages and other property related matters, regionally and nationally, acting both for individuals and companies in personal, investment and small scale development transactions.
Mike also leads Birketts specialist Equity Release Team and together with colleagues located across Birketts’ offices provides appropriate legal advice to clients taking out these products.
Over the years Mike has built up a large and loyal client following with new instructions coming largely by way of personal recommendation which he attributes not only to the quality of advice and legal work carried out but to his personal benchmark of always maintaining regular communication with his clients as to the progression of their matters.
Away from the office Mike has a keen interest in all things weather related, reading fiction and going for long walks with his wife and their hound Safiq, a typically independent-minded Saluki.
