William Sell

William, or Billy as he is better known, joined Birketts in September 2022 as a Trainee Solicitor. Billy is currently in his third training seat with the Commercial & Technology Team in our Cambridge office.

Billy’s second seat was with the Construction & Engineering Team, where he was involved in various transactional and contentious matters. During his Construction seat, Billy worked with different types of Construction contract suites, including JCT, NEC and IChemE contracts. 

Billy’s first seat was in Banking and Finance, where he assisted the team on a wide range of finance agreements, including various term loan facilities and subordination agreements, and wrote an article for lenders on the Register of Overseas Entities

Prior to joining Birketts, Billy read Law (LLB) at the University of Sussex. During the penultimate year of his undergraduate degree, Billy participated in the Birketts Vacation Scheme and was subsequently offered a training contract at Birketts. After graduating from the University of Sussex, Billy obtained a distinction in the LPC at BPP University. During his post-graduate studies at BPP University, Billy completed electives in Commercial Law and Intellectual Property, Corporate Finance and Private Acquisitions.

Outside of work Billy enjoys watching and playing football, travelling as much as possible and takes a keen interest in different cuisines, whether cooking or visiting new independent restaurants.
