Birketts scoops two Dealmakers Awards

Birketts’ Corporate Team has won two prizes at the Insider Media Central and East of England Dealmakers Awards 2020 – Private Equity/Venture Capital Deal of the Year and Deal of the Year (below £10m).
The first award was in recognition of the team’s advice to Vanilla Electronics on a private equity investment from Literacy Capital. Vanilla is a provider of supply chain solutions for its customers, typically being specialist, high-end technology manufacturers and the investment has enabled the company to look for bolt-on acquisitions that will allow it to scale more quickly.
The second is in recognition of SDI Group’s purchase of Chell Instruments, with the team advising SDI. Chell Instruments specialises in the design, manufacture and calibration of pressure, vacuum and gas flow measurement instruments. The acquisition by SDI, which designs and manufactures scientific and technology products for use in digital imaging and sensing and control applications, is in line with the group’s strategy of acquiring complementary businesses.
Speaking after the awards, Birketts’ Partner and Head of Corporate, Adrian Seagers, said: “In the face of the continuing disruption to businesses throughout the coronavirus pandemic, Birketts has delivered transparent legal advice and unrivalled client service without interruption.
