Jonathan Shevlane
- Experience
Jonathan qualified as a Solicitor in 2018 and joined Birketts in 2022. He is an Employment Law Trainer in the Employment Team and provides a range of Employment Law training to Birketts’ clients through the Shaping Excellence training division.
Jonathan has over three and a half years’ experience working as an Employment Law Associate at a global, multinational law practice (where he trained and qualified), and at a social justice solicitors. Jonathan has advised and represented clients from a range of sectors including: education, transport, technology and finance. He has also worked representing individuals in disputes with their employer. Jonathan has particular experience in bringing and defending discrimination claims.
Jonathan has gained a great deal of experience in providing Employment Law training to private and public sector organisations as well as to Union officers. He has experience in providing training on a range of topics including on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, the Employment Tribunal process, employment law basics, and managing workplace investigations.
Jonathan is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
Jonathan studied law at Durham University, and completed the LPC at BPP Law School in Cambridge before taking a year abroad during which he taught English as a foreign language in Northern Italy.
