Brenda joined Birketts in May 2022 and qualified as a Solicitor in October 2020. She is an Associate in our Residential Real Estate Team.
Brenda handles all types of residential conveyancing matters and advises on a variety of transactions. She has experience of dealing with freehold and leasehold transactions, transfers of equity, lease extensions, first registrations, new build properties and re-mortgages. She has acted for a number of national housebuilders, high net worth purchasers, buy to let investors and first time buyers in the purchase and disposal of both private and shared ownership properties. She has dealt with property launches for developers requiring reservation and exchange on the same day.
More recently she has also been drafting and negotiating agreements for leases, licences to assign, deeds of variation, deeds of rectification and consent to leases, conditional contracts and option agreements. She also deals with bridging finance and Sharia compliant finance and has acted for purchasers of new build properties having been placed on recommended panels for developers’ preferred solicitors.
Brenda has experience in dealing with government assisted schemes including Shared Ownership and Help to Buy. She is also experienced in dealing with Help to Buy ISA and Lifetime ISA drawdowns.
Brenda is based in our Chelmsford office.
Outside of work, Brenda’s interests are cooking and playing netball.
Brenda has a BA (Hons) Degree in Criminology with Law, Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course with LLM.
