Tom Hodges

Tom has broad experience of advising clients in relation to both contentious and non-contentious issues arising from the shipping, trade and marine insurance industries.
Tom specialises in all aspects of contentious shipping, road transport (CMR) and international trade work, including charterparty disputes, cargo claims and marine insurance issues. He regularly deals with complex disputes, involving both arbitration and High Court proceedings. His experience includes advising clients in relation to claims arising from the shipment, storage and insurance of commodities, and, as well as LMAA and LCIA proceedings, Tom has dealt with arbitrations arising under the FOSFA and GAFTA rules.
Tom also has experience of assisting clients with the contracts required by their businesses. He has experience of drafting distribution and agency agreements, charterparties and other forms of contract with a transport or wider commercial theme.
Before joining the firm, Tom worked in the claims department of a P&I insurer in the City, and he maintains a particular interest in issues arising from the marine insurance industry. He qualified as a Solicitor in September 2012.
