Amber joined Birketts in June 2019. She is currently working as a Paralegal in our Planning and Environmental Team.
Her role includes serving Planning Contravention Notices and assisting with the negotiation and completion of Section 106 Agreements, along with providing legal opinions on planning matters. This involves liaising with the District Council planning officers, enforcement officers and the land charges department, as well as the developers’ solicitors on the other side and the County Council. She is responsible for opening new files, sending out client care and engagement letters, billing and closing files, aiming to ensure smooth administration to increase the capacity of her fellow fee earners.
Prior to joining Birketts Amber worked with Nikki Fonseka in her Planning Team at a local firm in Norfolk.
After graduating from The University of Sheffield with a First Class degree in Psychology in July 2016, Amber obtained legal work experience at Norfolk County Council’s nplaw and went on to complete a mini pupillage at Octagon Legal.
She then began working for a local law firm in Norfolk, gaining experience in the Property, Private Client, Litigation and Employment departments before moving to the Planning department.
Amber completed her GDL in June 2019 and will begin her LPC in January 2021, whilst continuing to work part time at the firm.
After securing a sought after spot on the 2020 Summer Vacation Scheme at Birketts, Amber was offered one of three training contracts commencing in September 2022 based in the Norwich office.
