Robert Mackay

Robert joined Birketts in April 2016 as a Paralegal and began his training contract in our Corporate Team in September 2018. Robert's second seat was with our Commercial Property Team. and his third seat with our Property Litigation Team. He is currently in his fourth seat splitting his time between our Property Litigation Team and our Planning Team.

Before joining Birketts, Robert gained experience working as a Paralegal within both the commercial and residential property departments of a local firm where he assisted with the acquisitions, disposals and financing of freehold and leasehold properties, and dealt with Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) and HM Land Registry registrations. Prior to working in Law, Robert worked for a sourcing agency in China where he helped expand the company’s European client base.

Robert is based in our Norwich office.

Other Information

Robert studied for his Bachelor of Law degree with French Law and Language at the University of East Anglia, graduating with a 2:1. As part of his degree, Robert spent a year abroad studying French Law in Nancy, France, at Université de Lorraine where he achieved Le Certificat des Etudes Juridiques Françaises (CEJF). In 2017 Robert completed his Legal Practice Course (LPC) at BPP University in Cambridge, where he achieved a commendation.

In his spare team Robert enjoys football, rock climbing and chess. Robert speaks both French and Spanish and knows enough Mandarin Chinese to survive life in Beijing.
