Ava is an Associate in our Private Client Advisory Team, based in our Norwich office.
Ava was admitted as a Solicitor in October 2018 and joined Birketts in March 2019.
Ava advises individuals, business owners, landowners and their families on a wide range of matters including wills, succession and tax planning, powers of attorney, the creation, taxation and administration of trusts. Ava often works alongside colleagues in our Agricultural Team, Private Wealth Disputes Team and Trust Administration and Taxation Teams to provide a cohesive and seamless service to clients.
Ava is also experienced with estate administration and deals with wide ranging and complex circumstances, including intestate estates, trust structures, partnership matters and estates with agricultural and business aspects.
Ava is particularly adept with farming families and providing bespoke advice alongside exploring estate succession opportunities. Ava is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and has completed the STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates.
Recent work highlights
Advising and preparation of a complex bespoke will containing various overage and pre-emption arrangements which included working closely agricultural colleagues.
Providing a detailed analysis of capacity for a client with fluctuating capacity with a complex set of instructions, requiring fully reviewing the client’s circumstances and the appropriate legal tests.
Advising a family of an intestate taxable estate with minor interests, assets subject to forced heirship rules, business assets and estate restructuring options.
