Catherine is a Partner in our Construction and Engineering Team and is based in our Ipswich office.

Catherine qualified as a Solicitor in 2000 and joined Birketts following over 14 years working in the Construction and Engineering group of an international law firm.

Catherine has over 20 years contentious litigation experience. She specialises in construction disputes, working for employers, main contractors, sub-contractors, developers and other construction professionals and for both public and private sector clients. Catherine has experience of all the standard form construction contracts, to include JCT, NEC and FIDIC.

Catherine’s practice includes project management input for clients during the life span of a project, which can assist clients in avoiding or achieving the early resolution of disputes. She is familiar with all forms of alternative dispute resolution and has considerable experience of mediation. She is also regularly involved in Court proceedings at all levels but primarily in the Technology and Construction Court and acts for clients in adjudication and arbitration, to include final account disputes, defects claims and claims arising as a result of delay.
