Ella Patten is a Solicitor in the litigation and dispute resolution team, based in our Ipswich office.
Ella’s practice focuses on a broad range of commercial litigation matters. Ella advises on complex civil and commercial disputes, including disputes arising from corporate mergers and acquisitions, indemnity claims, employment contracts, personal guarantees, loan agreements and the misuse of confidential information. She also has experience of advising on disputed and high-value debt recovery claims and insolvency proceedings, including bankruptcy.
Ella works with global companies across industries, including agriculture, aerospace and financial services, among others.
In addition, Ella maintains an active pro-bono practice, advising individuals in respect of commercial and contractual disputes and civil proceedings and supervising colleagues providing advice on disputes of this nature.
Ella is an effective commercial disputes lawyer who combines strategic insight with a practical, client-centric approach. She guides clients through complex disputes with clarity, shaping her advice to align closely with each client’s commercial priorities and desired outcomes whilst carefully balancing risk, cost and proportionality.

Acting for a provider of trust and fund administration services in relation to the enforcement of a Call Option.
Successfully obtaining a bankruptcy Order in defended insolvency proceedings pursuant to section 271(3) IA 1986.
Acting for a Community Interest Company (CIC) in relation to the contested exit of a co-director.
Advising on liability following the revocation of UK Home Office overseas student sponsor license.
