
Florence joined Birketts in September 2021 as a Trainee Solicitor.
Florence qualified as a Solicitor in our Regulatory and Corporate Defence Team in September 2023 and is based in our Cambridge office.
Florence assists the team with a wide range of regulatory matters, both defence and prosecution. She has experience of dealing with private criminal matters, defending individuals particularly in relation to road traffic offences. Florence frequently advises and represents clients at police interviews. She works on prosecutions on behalf of Local Authorities in the Magistrates court. Florence has assisted in carrying out a number of private investigations and providing reports and advice following health and safety incidents.
Florence assists with all transport and logistics matters surrounding road transport regulation and operator licensing. She assists the team in preparing for Public Inquiries and Preliminary Hearings.
Prior to joining Birketts Florence graduated from the University of Sheffield with a First-Class degree in Law and Criminology. She went on to complete the LPC with BPP in Cambridge and graduated with a Distinction. Florence volunteers with Suffolk Law Centre providing pro-bono legal advice and hosted season 2 of the Birketts Levelling With podcast.
Recent work highlights
Assisting with representing transport companies at a Public Inquiries or Preliminary hearings before the Traffic Commissioner.
Carrying out a number of prosecutions on behalf of the Local Authority, including successfully prosecuting an unlicensed taxi driver and assisting in the successful prosecution of a landlord operating an unlicenced HMO.
Advising and representing motorists for a range of offences including driving without due care an attention and driving with excess alcohol.

Law and Criminology Degree – University of Sheffield (1st class).
Legal Practice Course – BPP Cambridge (distinction).
