Gavin Smith
Gavin Smith has 18 years’ experience working with national housebuilders and an additional 10 years in residential conveyancing.
He has considerable experience in assisting and acting in connection with infrastructure agreements (e.g. substation, gas governor, water bypass arrangement and service media disposals and sewer and road adoption agreements), complex title investigations and reporting, site acquisitions, site set ups for plot disposals and high volume plot sales.
Gavin is based at our Chelmsford office and works with colleagues in the residential development team.
Recent work highlights
Infrastructure transactions
Gavin currently acts for numerous developers in connection with disposals relating to substations, gas governors, water bypass arrangements, pumping stations and service media easements; and s104 and s38 sewer and road adoption agreements/variations.
Title investigations
Gavin has considerable recent experience of complex title investigations, reports on title and the procurement of title indemnity insurance policies.
Site acquisition
Gavin has recently advised in connection with the unconditional purchase of a site benefitting from planning consent for residential development.
