Hayley is a Partner and Head of the Norwich Private Client Advisory Team.
Hayley was admitted as a Solicitor in 2008 and joined Birketts in September 2019.
Hayley has over 17 years’ experience in Private Client law. She advises a wide range of clients including landowners, entrepreneurs and other professionals. Her areas of specialism include advising high net worth individuals on Wills, administering complex estate administrations, succession planning and strategies for family businesses and farming families, setting up and administering trusts and powers of attorney.
Hayley is a full member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP) having passed the diploma with distinction in 2012. Hayley is vice chair on the Norfolk and Norwich STEP Committee which arranges up to date training and seminars for their members.
Hayley is based in our Norwich office.
Recent work highlights
Undertaking detailed lifetime tax planning for a farming family, breaking down composite elements and considering reliefs and the ‘Balfour’ test and succession planning.
Administration of an Estate in the senior generation of a large farming family. Involved in complex but successful relief submissions to HMRC for APR/BPR given the split of holiday rentals and farm usage and the style and character of the farmhouse.
Advising a young, highly successful entrepreneur on BPR and a suitable and tax efficient Will structure and succession planning following exponential growth of his company.
