Birketts’ Norwich office is delighted to welcome two key appointments, Legal Director Helen Cordingley and Senior Associate Hayley Pettitt, to its highly respected Private Client Team.
These appointments mark an exciting time for the department, with Norwich retaining its status in Chambers High Net Worth 2019 Guide for the third year in a row and Partner Lorna Spear being ranked in the Private Wealth Law category for Norwich and the surrounding areas.
The team has seen a period of remarkable growth, with Emma Rees qualifying in to the department plus the twin appointments of Tax and Trust Executive Janette Chinn and Associate Laura van Ree earlier this year. Janette brings a specialism of trust account administration and Laura has expertise in tax efficient succession planning, probate and Court of Protection work. Laura is also a STEP member and passed with distinction, obtaining a Worldwide Excellence Award for achieving the highest overall mark in the Diploma in 2015.
Helen qualified in 2006 and Hayley in 2008, and between them they have over twenty years’ experience in the Private Client sector specialising in wills, tax and succession planning, trusts, the administration of estates and powers of attorney.
Hayley and Helen are also members of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP), a global professional association who specialise in succession planning and family inheritance, and both passed their diplomas for the same with Distinction. Hayley and Helen sit on the Norfolk & Norwich STEP Committee with Helen acting as secretary.
