James Austin joined Birketts in 1989, following five years of training and qualification at a leading City firm.
He quickly progressed to become a partner in Birketts’ corporate team and has since played a pivotal role in its success and in the wider growth of the Firm.
James served as Senior Partner for eight years, during which his strong leadership and management skills enabled him to navigate complex issues of succession and governance within a rapidly expanding partnership.
Throughout his career, James has advised businesses of all sizes across a range of industries on corporate transactions valued at up to £100m, as well as providing broader commercial and partnership guidance. He also established Birketts’ trade marks practice, reflecting his expertise in intellectual property.
With his breadth of experience, James is uniquely positioned to advise partnerships on the challenges of transitioning to a more corporate structure while preserving their culture and ethos.
