Kate joined Birketts as a Trainee Solicitor in September 2024.
She is currently in her fourth seat in the employment team in Chelmsford, where she is building on the experience gained during her previous seat and continues to assist with both contentious and non‑contentious matters, advising employees and employers on all aspects of employment law.
Kate’s third seat was in the employment team in Ipswich, where she worked on Employment Tribunal claims and advised both employers and employees on day-to-day workplace issues, including performance management and disciplinary and grievance processes.
Kate’s second seat was in private wealth disputes, where she assisted in contentious trust and probate matters including Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 claims.
Kate’s first seat was in commercial real estate, which involved working on a range of commercial property transactions including acting for landlords and tenants, developers and investors.
Prior to joining Birketts, Kate graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Law degree and a Master’s degree in International Politics (Global Justice and Ethics). She then went on to study the LLM Legal Practice (SQE 1 & 2) at the University of Law in Moorgate, completing electives in Employment, Family, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Advanced Dispute Resolution.
