Katie is the Head of Family at Birketts and has been in practice for 20 years.
She is known for her pragmatic and solution-based approach, having been a popular mediator in the East Anglian region for the last ten years. Katie has been described by clients as a calm and empathetic lawyer, with a robust and no-nonsense approach when required. Katie does not argue unnecessary points and is focused on minimising cost and delay by using out of court resolutions. Katie deals with all matters relating to finance and has specialist knowledge in farming divorces, domestic violence, public sector pensions and pre/post nuptial agreements.

Advised a husband on divorce and complex financial settlement issues, successfully utilising the arbitration process. Acting for the Managing Director of a large international business, achieved a favourable outcome within seven months from start to finish, significantly faster than traditional court proceedings.
Assisted a wife and her children to secure safety from a high‑risk domestic abuse situation. Successfully conducted emergency injunction proceedings for immediate protection, together with children and financial proceedings, achieving positive outcomes in each.
Advised on a high‑value prenuptial agreement involving assets of approximately £50 million, achieving a fair and balanced document that protected both parties’ interests and enabled them to proceed with their marriage with clarity and confidence.
