Kristian Nelson joined Birketts as a Trainee in 2014 and qualified as a Solicitor in the commercial real estate team in Norwich in March 2016.
Kristian now primarily assists Partner Bhargav Trivedi and specialises in development and site disposals for strategic landowner clients, specifically via option agreements, promotion agreements and conditional contracts.
He has advised landowners on the sale of strategic land to national house builders. Kristian has also acted for a wide range of lenders on secured lending transactions (at both a portfolio and individual property level) and undertakes repeat work for a development finance lender across the country. He has advised overseas entities who are entering the UK market for the first time on commercial property matters and has advised a number of national charities and private trusts on property matters across their entire portfolio.
Alongside this work, Kristian also advises a national airport on their development and asset management matters. He is also responsible for the supervision and training of trainee solicitors within the team.

Advising Norwich Airport on all commercial real estate matters on a general retainer, ranging from landlord and tenant matters across the airport estate to wider, strategic option agreements for development of open space.
Advising a landowner on an option / promotion agreement hybrid for the development of a 600+ unit housing development to an affordable housing provider.
Advising a development finance provider on the securitisation of all commercial real estate loans across their portfolio on a general retainer that has been ongoing for five years, ranging from newbuild developments of open space to airspace development.
