Lizzy Ferguson

Lizzy joined Birketts in 2023 as part of the Early Careers Team.

Before her career in law, Lizzy successfully owned and operated a swim school, bringing her entrepreneurial skills and experience to her role at Birketts.

At Birketts, Lizzy is responsible for assisting with the attraction and recruitment of the firm’s trainees and graduate solicitor apprentices. She also manages the organization of the annual vacation scheme. Alongside Amy Bardon, Lizzy provides ongoing support and guidance to trainees throughout their training contracts, helping them navigate their early careers and develop into well-rounded legal professionals.

In addition, Lizzy leads the firm’s school engagement efforts and runs the Social Mobility Insight into Law Experience (SMILE) programme. Through these initiatives, she aims to make the legal profession more accessible, providing guidance, inspiration, and practical insight to young people from diverse backgrounds. Lizzy is passionate about fostering early interest in law and empowering students with the knowledge and confidence to pursue their ambitions in the legal field.
