Matthew is a Partner in our Litigation Team. He is a commercial litigator and qualified as a Solicitor in October 1988. He has been a Partner in the firm since 1993.
Since qualification his experience has included criminal law, personal injury claims, contractual and tortious claims, professional negligence claims, claims involving wills, trust and real property, insolvency and intellectual property law.
He has appeared as an advocate, and conducted trials, in cases in the Magistrates Court and the County Court and has appeared as an advocate in cases in the High Court, the Crown Court and at inquests. He has extensive experience of mediation as an alternative method of settling disputes.
For the past 30 years he has concentrated on commercial claims, advising in connection with, and claims arising from, the sale/purchase of companies/shares and other shareholder disputes, claims in relation to contracts (including product liability claims, principally in the manufacturing, IT and agricultural industries) and claims arising from employment contracts, including those relating to the breach of restrictive covenants and the misuse of intellectual property and confidential information.
