Robbie Watson

Robbie is a Senior Associate in our corporate tax team, based in our Ipswich office.

Robbie provides expert corporate tax advice across the firm’s sectors. He is known for his pragmatic manner and his ability to explain complex issues in simple terms.

He joined Birketts in 2021 and is a Senior Associate in our Corporate Tax Team. Robbie regularly acts for clients ranging from entrepreneurs and investors to multinationals, financial institutions, and corporates across all of Birkett’s sectors.

Robbie has a strong background in a broad range of corporate tax matters with a particular specialty for tax advice on M&A transactions, providing key support to our Corporate teams.

Healso provides tax advice on the full range of employment tax issues (such as salary sacrifice and termination payments), specialising in particular in advice on labour supply risks (including in relation to IR35 and the off-payroll working rules).

Robbie is also an Associate of Tax Technicians bringing a rare blend of high-level technical knowledge and transactional experience.

Robbie originally studied Law at King’s College London where he was also a choral scholar and continues his passion for music to this day as a lay clerk.
