Sofia Mitrofan
Sofia joined Birketts in September 2023 as a Trainee Solicitor and is based in our Cambridge office. She is currently in her second seat in the Banking and Finance Team, where she assists the team in advising both lenders and borrowers in all aspects of corporate lending and real estate finance transactions.
Sofia’s first seat was with the Corporate Team in Cambridge, where she assisted the team on a range of corporate matters, gaining experience in drafting documents for business acquisitions and disposals, restructuring of businesses, carrying out legal research, and other general company law matters.
Prior to joining Birketts, Sofia studied Law in Romania. She then studied the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course LLM with the University of Law. Sofia completed electives in Advanced Real Estate, Commercial Law, and Commercial Dispute Resolution.
Before becoming a Trainee Solicitor, Sofia worked as a volunteer for Citizen Advice Bureau Cambridge and ran her own business in the hospitality industry in Barley, Hertfordshire.
Outside work, Sofia enjoys running, watching theatre, and travelling.
