Tom assists with advising individuals and their families in the preparation of Wills and lasting powers of attorney, succession and tax planning, trust work and the administration of estates.
Prior to joining Birketts, Tom graduated from Northumbria University with Upper Second Class Honours in Law with Business (LL.B). After university, Tom spent three years working as a Senior Paralegal in the Risk and Compliance department at a regional law firm in Cambridge. During this time, Tom studied the Legal Practice Course at BPP University in Cambridge and completed electives in Commercial Law and Intellectual Property, Employment Law and Private Client.
Outside of work, Tom likes to keep fit and enjoys weightlifting and playing football. Tom plays for a local Cambridgeshire based football team on Saturdays.
Over the last few years, Tom volunteered at a number of Powerhouse games run by Power2Inspire, a charity who work with schools, colleges and universities to promote inclusive participation within sport across Cambridgeshire.
During his training contract, Tom took part in a skydive to raise money for local Cambridgeshire charity, Rowans, who provide an arts centre and forest school for adults with learning difficulties living in Cambridgeshire.
Tom also volunteers at Suffolk Law Clinic which provides free legal advice to members of the local community.
