Will May

Will is a Solicitor, based in our Corporate Team in London.

Will specialises in a broad range of corporate matters, providing comprehensive support to our clients. His work includes advising on mergers and acquisitions, group reorganisations and demergers, general company law and corporate governance, constitutional matters (articles of association and shareholders’ agreements), and director/shareholder rights.

Recent examples of Will’s work include: the multi-jurisdictional acquisition of a virtual and hybrid events platform company for a US client; repeat acquisitions for a building services engineering group; the disposal of a shipbroking company; the asset purchase of an electrical component manufacturing business for a UK-based premium car manufacturer; and, on several occasions, advising founders of start-ups receiving investment (in several industries including insurance and pharmaceuticals). Will keeps appraised on updates and developments in the industry and has advised on several matters that required a notification to the government under the (relatively new) National Security & Investment Act 2021.

Will qualified as a Solicitor in March 2023. He joined Birketts as a Paralegal in early 2021 and progressed to Trainee Solicitor in September 2021. During his training, Will gained diverse experience across several departments, including the International Private Client Advisory Team, Corporate Team, and Housing Team. This rotation allowed him to develop a well-rounded understanding of our firm’s extensive services and the unique needs of our clients. Before joining Birketts, Will worked as a Paralegal at a national firm for 18 months, where he honed his legal skills and gained valuable industry experience.
