William is a Solicitor in the construction and engineering team at Birketts LLP, having joined the firm following his qualification in 2025.
He advises on both non-contentious and contentious construction matters, supporting clients across the full lifecycle of their projects and providing commercially focused, pragmatic advice.
William regularly advises on procurement strategy and risk allocation, and drafts, reviews and negotiates industry-standard building contracts, including JCT, NEC and FIDIC forms, together with consultant appointments and ancillary documents such as collateral warranties, deeds of novation, performance bonds and guarantees. In addition, William supports clients on contentious matters, advising on termination, payment disputes and claims for loss and damage.
Prior to qualification, he spent three years as a Paralegal and Trainee Solicitor dedicated exclusively to construction and engineering work. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Commercial Paralegal in Hong Kong and China, advising on cross-border matters across blockchain technology, health and life sciences and intellectual property, bringing a broad commercial perspective to his construction practice.
