Understanding and Dealing with Design Liability
Aim
This course provides delegates with an understanding of the scope of design liability together with how to appoint consultants and sub-contractors to ensure risks are passed down the supply chain. The course will also look at other documents often associated with design liability.
Audience
This course is particularly suited to main contractors, and personnel involved with appointing professionals or dealing with designers at whatever stage of a project.
Course outline
The course begins with an overview of the current law on design liability and a discussion of skill and care / fitness for purpose clauses, before a discussion on how and on what terms professionals are appointed. Delegates will then learn about the necessary related documents and what to include and avoid in them.
